New landing at the airport Gazipaşa in Alanya Turkey.
Today at 10:45 the boeing 737-800 of the airline Corendon landed for the first time at the new airport Gazipaşa. The flight from the Netherlands, with 189 passengers has gone smoothly and the aircraft landed safely at the airport.
Last season (2011), there are several planes landed from the Netherlands but those were the boeing 737 - 700. Now it has been proved that a larger aircraft, like a boeing 737 – 800 also can land safely at the new airport in Gazipaşa.
The flight was also attended by de Director of the airline flight Corendon, the 2.Pilot Sümer Kütük, some members of the Turkish Government, the mayor of Alanya, Gazipasa, Anamur and several journalists.
The aircraft at the airport of Gazipasa is enthusiastically welcomed by the local population.
The director of the airline Corendon Mr.Yildiray Karaer announced in the press conference that there will be several flights from 20 April. The planning of airline Corendon in 2012 is to bring 100.000 tourists to the region Antalya. From Netherlands and Belgium there will be twice a week flights to Gazipaşa and Antalya airports.
The pilot announced that it was a very safe landing and the airport Gazipaşa is good enough to be used.
After it was announced that the airport Gazipaşa is totaly safe for landings for big aircrafts, many airlines agreed for a flight test. The agreements with those airlines are signed and the aircrafts from Netherlands, Serbia, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Germany may landed at the Gazipaşa airport .
The opening of the airport in Gazipaşa will have a positive affect to the tourism and construction. Because the transfer time get from 90 minutes to 20 minutes, there will be more new tourists who will visit the region Alanya.
It is also a positive development for the homeowners of a 2 nd home in Alanya. In this way, they can come often en easier to their house in Alanya and can relax and enjoy the sun.
